Inpatients
Care of inpatients involves daily rounds, reviewing of labwork, liasing with specialists and allied health providers, discussing care of the patient with assigned nurse and occasionally meeting with family members.
When a patient is to be discharged, medications need to be prescribed, follow-up arrangements made, discharge summary completed.
There are weekly rounds that physicans are required to attend with all health care staff to discuss patients. Also, weekly mental health rounds occur for those inpatients involved with the First Nations Mental Health Program, Nodin; in addition to weekly rounds for all other patients.
