Appointment Clinic
The "Appointment Clinic" is an outpatient clinic program that is held between the hours of 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Typically six patients (one per 1/2 hour) are booked per clinic (although physicians also can elect to see patients from their communities outside their scheduled clinics as well).
Clinics are normally comprised of either patients from the north who cannot wait for the next physician visit, patients from town who receive care from our practice or follow-ups from recent hospitalization or emergency room visits to assess ongoing care or potential for returning to their home community. Often these patients have multiple problems and require the organization and follow-up of a number investigations while in Sioux Lookout.
Completion of forms, dictations, etc. relating to the patients seen in the Appointment Clinic setting are often completed following the scheduled appointment.
