Our Patients
The people have inhabited this land for millennia. They are rich in their traditions and culture, languages, family ties and relationship to the land. Their world view as seen in their history, philosophy, and languages has much to offer to visitors who get to know them.
But their relativey rapid and critical transition to modernity has not been without cost. From a health perspective they are burdened with the problems associated with poverty and unemployment, overcrowded housing, limited access to health care services and the impacts of centuries of oppression.
